Food Kit Distribution

Gujarat

Human Welfare Nutrition Ongoing

Objective

To provide food kits on a monthly basis to individuals who are in dire need.

Why did we do it?

Sparsh initiated the food kit program during the 1st lockdown in March 2020. During this period we identified a number of senior citizens, widows and physically handicapped individuals who lived alone and had no one they could turn to, for support, even after the situation normalised.

What did we do?

Keeping this situation in view we continue to support 62 families in 10 villages with monthly food kits in the area between Killa-Pardi and Kaparada. Also considering that they live in remote areas with limited access to transport, our staff and volunteers ensure that the food kit is home delivered to the beneficiaries on the 3rd Sunday of each month.

Outcome

The beneficiaries identified in this program are the most vulnerable population of the society. The monthly supply of food enables them to meet the most basic human need.
